Lowe’s joins Habitat for Humanity to celebrate 50th Anniversary with volunteer pop-up build
Saturday, July 25 was a hands-on day of building community outside Lowe’s in Northeast Philadelphia as more than 30 volunteers donated their time and energy to build Adirondack chairs for first-time home buyers with Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia.
Veterans, families, and neighbors took up tools and worked alongside Habitat staff to assemble, sand, and stain the chairs that will soon be gifted to families in our homeownership program.

Habitat affiliates across the country took part in a variety of service activities to celebrate Habitat for Humanity’s 50th anniversary and its 20-year partnership with Lowe’s.
Since 2003, Lowe’s has contributed over $100 million to help more than 20,000 families across Habitat affiliates nationally. In North and West Philadelphia last year, 10 families received critical home repairs thanks to funding from Lowe’s.

“Partners like Lowe’s help build stronger communities,” said Annalise Peterson, corporate relations manager at Habitat Philadelphia. “We’re grateful for their support and for all the volunteers who came out today.”
Lowe’s investments support essential repairs such as roofing and HVAC, energy efficiency, accessibility and fall-prevention modifications and disaster preparedness upgrades that help homeowners remain safe in their homes.
